Bill Coleman LODD

On January 8, 2012, while responding to a burglar alarm call in Anthem, Maricopa County SO Deputy William “Bill” Coleman, who was also a member of FOP Lodge 32, contacted a subject sleeping in a van near the scene. The subject who slid open the door, pushed out the barrel of an AR-15 assault rifle and started firing. The suspect fired using metal-piercing military-grade ammo. One of the green-tipped .223 caliber rounds slammed into Deputy Coleman just beneath his Kevlar vest. Deputy Coleman never had a chance; he succumbed to multiple wounds. Today we honor and remember his sacrifice.
